The gang's all here -- and that's part of the problem. In a telefilm that aired after the series had run its course, the shooting of police lieutenant-turned-mayoral candidate Al Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) brings current and past underlings (like Ned Beatty, Richard Belzer, and Clark Johnson) back to their famed Baltimore station house to investigate. The murder probe mostly serves as an opportunity for the TV show's stellar cast to strut their stuff, but in trying to give everyone something to do and say (and adding ineffectual cameos by Jason Priestley and Ed Begley Jr.), the (melo)dramatic gruel gets a bit thin.
