A weekly spin on the Web

CAUGHT ON TAPE In keeping with the paranoid theme of Dave Navarro's solo album, ''Trust No One,'' the ex-Jane's Addiction guitarist took surveillance footage of himself in an elevator at Capitol Records in L.A. -- and put it online (dave navarro.net). He's encouraging fans to send in their own candid recordings as well.

RED-HANDED Blakemurder.com, a new site that tracks the murder of Robert Blake's wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, has its own scandalous background. It shares space with and is run by the creator of inwhysee.com, a site that used to offer info on bondage, sex toys, and amateur gynecology.

ANI-MANIACS Sugar Ray isn't releasing their latest video on TV but instead on the site for cable's Cartoon Network (cartoonnetwork.com). The video features each band member drawn in the style of his fave cartoons (frontman Mark McGrath chose classic Hanna-Barbera). Meanwhile another cartoon band, Miss Muffy and Her Muff Mob (bulls eyeart.com), who ''sing'' music by Pharcyde, are set to get their own MTV pilot in the fall.
