Cats and Dogs

Despite a family-friendly pedigree of live action and animation, this summer kid flick -- in which the ''purring hordes'' known as kitties wage a nasty battle against canines -- boasts a pretty creepy website (catsanddogsmovie.com). A futuristic computer screen keeps tabs on the feline enemy. Among the many goodies are a revealing interview with former White House inhabitant Socks the Cat (topic: interns and cigars), a list of weapons (brass knuckles, hairballs), and profiles of such known operatives as Mr. Tinkles and Calico. An ingenious site, yes, but slightly discomfiting for anyone who thinks kitties are pure bundles of love.
