Lead Performance: Terence Blanchard; Genre: Jazz

One of jazz's trumpeters-of-choice has settled on a ripe concept, with inviting tunes by great American songwriter Jimmy McHugh. Wisely, Blanchard calls on several fine singers: Between Diana Krall's musky title track and Cassandra Wilson's ironically brooding ''On the Sunny Side of the Street'' are cameos by Dianne Reeves and Jane Monheit. We also hear a tough and tender instrumental, ''I'm in the Mood for Love,'' which Blanchard paints as a mercurial mood.
