As for Combs, the New York Post reported last Friday that Lopez had left Judd for the rap mogul, but his spokeswoman issued a statement, saying, ''Contrary to reports, Mr. Combs and Ms. Lopez are not together. However, he wishes her well during this difficult time.'' The Post also reported that Combs had offered her the use of some of his Manhattan apartments.
But she might not need a place to stay. The Post later quoted a source as saying Lopez and Judd were not only still living together under one roof, but had flown to Miami after the news of their split broke, spending a ''romantic weekend'' together. ''Cris is like her pet dog -- always there when she calls,'' the source told the Post. ''But when she wants to go out with other guys, he looks the other way.''
Then again, a different source told Reuters that Judd and Lopez had been living apart ''for some time.'' And People magazine has sources close to J. Lo saying that a divorce is ''on the horizon.'' Us Weekly is also reporting that a reconciliation is unlikely, claiming that tensions between the two reached the breaking point two months ago at the opening of Madre's, where Lopez was widely quoted as saying, ''This is my first kind of solo project without any help from anybody around me.''
Us goes on to say that Judd felt snubbed by the remark because he had helped design the restaurant's interior. And he also resented the role played by Lopez's ex-husband, Ojani Noa (the waiter to whom she was married for 13 months in 1997-98), whom she hired to run Madre's. At the time, the tabloids reported that a humiliated Judd stormed out of the party and spent two nights alone at the Beverly Hills Hotel. If they do divorce, maybe Puffy could offer HIM a place to stay.
