Here's why Justin Timberlake hasn't gone on record before to discuss his March breakup with Britney Spears: The word is still too painful. ''It hurts too bad to say it,'' the reluctantly solo Timberlake tells People magazine, which named him one of America's Top 50 Bachelors in its current issue.
''You get to a point where you're crying yourself to sleep at night,'' the 21-year-old tells the magazine. ''I feel like I'm in the middle of a soap opera. I honestly know what it's like to have a broken heart now.''
Not that he's ready to start dating someone else now that his long-term relationship with Spears is kaput. The 'N Sync singer, who's currently recording a solo album, says he doesn't want to be tied down. ''I want to enjoy the simple things. I want to take three days off when I want to, not when it's on my calendar. I want to go run in the park with my sweats on because I can. That's where I am right now.''
