Born in the U.S. and raised in Brazil, Lindsay reflects both sides of the equator. The singer-songwriter-guitarist superimposes dense bilingual wordplay over shifting sonic textures. He achieves startling contrasts (the bossa nova sway of ''Beija-me''; the scratches and blips driving ''In the City That Reads'') and neat parallels (the Bahian drums on ''Uma''). Idiosyncratic pop of the highest order.
