Details Lead Performance: My Vitriol; Genre: Rock

Craving a hit of Brit on the heavier side? With their debut disc, My Vitriol unveil a compelling collage of urgent and moody alt-rock -- with pages torn from the Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, and Foo Fighters. Luckily, these dudes put their own stomp on the swerving layered-guitar formulas. And as evidenced by propulsive cuts like ''The Gentle Art of Choking,'' they pretty much rock Starsailor's boat all the way back to England.
