Hot Spot

NYC's City Club hotel WHY The chicly understated midtown property is so discreet, co-owner Jeff Klein refuses to name any of the A-listers who've stayed there: ''It's for people who are too fabulous for that.'' VIP TREATMENT The second floor offers a guests-only lounge...so occupants don't need to wait on street level (with the hoi polloi) for their cars. LOOK OUT FOR Chocolate-marble bathrooms stocked with Hermes products; original artwork -- selected by Michael Douglas' and David Bowie's personal designer Jeffrey Bilhuber -- in each room. ''You can cocoon and be comfy and cozy, but it's also very elegant and sophisticated,'' says Klein. ''Normally when you create something comfy, it's Vermont-y.'' ROOM SERVICE Hotel guests can order nibbles from celeb chef Daniel Boulud's adjoining db Bistro Moderne restaurant, home of the $29 foie gras-and-truffle burger and a flock of famous diners. Among those spotted at the eatery: Woody Allen, Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal, Alicia Silverstone, Jason Biggs, and Kathleen Turner.
