Screamin' for My Supper

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Beth Hart

Hart's single, the touching burnout ballad ''L.A. Song,'' only hints at the edgy, Etheridgy blues rock the keyboardist cooks up for Screamin' for My Supper. Though her rock-chick snarl can veer toward stylized (''Delicious Surprise'') and her lyrics can overreach (''He lied like a salesman sellin' flies''), when Hart lets loose with the gritty ''Get Your S--- Together'' or the psychedelic, funky ''Sky Is Falling,'' she unleashes a seductive torrent of hurt and hope.
