Clayton Rohner, Faith Ford (1998, Trimark, 89 mins., R, also on DVD) As far as rip-offs of John Carpenter's ''The Thing'' go sub-zero setting, motley cast of victims this one starts off promisingly, with a pair of military police officers (Chase Masterson and ''GVSE's'' Rohner) investigating a series of disappearances. It all, however, goes to hell when we learn that the bad guy is not only the hero's half brother, but a satanic kook intent (with the help of a handy book called Raising Demons) on facilitating the Devil's return. Reel Goodies (0:21) When Rohner stops fighting the urge and begins walking and talking exactly like ''The Thing's'' Kurt Russell. The Last DetailAfter a critically acclaimed run on Murphy Brown, this is best Faith Ford can do? C+
