The Distance to Here

EW's GRADE
C+

Details Lead Performance: Live

The sermons from this Pennsylvania quartet are as arid and joyless as a mausoleum. ''We're locked into these bodies, are we anything at all?'' wannabe mystic Ed Kowalczyk sings on ''The Distance,'' while ''Sparkle'' finds him going on about ''the vision that changed my mind from hate to faith.'' Sanctimonious and occasionally silly, The Distance To Here suffers from Kowalczyk's refusal to turn his frown upside down.
