Director Wes Craven seems determined to ditch his rep as Hollywood's Scream king -- both with his new Meryl Streep movie Music of the Heart and this romantic thriller, a sort of Sleepless in Seattle for the human-clone set. Keeping the gore to a tasteful minimum, he tosses away a promising high-concept premise about a top secret research team developing weapons of mass destruction and a genetic superrace to focus on an unconvincing love triangle involving a dying scientist whose brain has been transplanted into an athlete's body, the jock's supermodel girlfriend, and the dying man's loyal wife -- a threesome that might work on screen but doesn't spark interest on the page.
