Hollywood still hath no fury like a woman scorned. But even as Ashley Judd's revenge thriller Double Jeopardy held onto the No. 1 slot, George Clooney and his Three Kings were also bearing gifts. The quirky Gulf War flick debuted to $15.8 million, quieting rumblings that the erstwhile ER star couldn't open a picture. In fact, Three Kings' haul is a nice increase over Clooney's last star vehicle, Out of Sight, which bagged $12 million in its first weekend. (His record is Batman & Robin's $42.9 million, which obviously says more about the Caped Crusader's built-in audience than Clooney's.) Elsewhere, American Beauty widened its run, taking third place and the week's highest per-screen average ($11,599), while rookies Drive Me Crazy, The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland, Mystery, Alaska, Plunkett & Macleane, and Happy, Texas made little impression.
