Eye of the Hunter (1999)

EW's GRADE
A-

Details Lead Performance: Brendan Perry

On this solo project, Brendan Perry creates mainstream art-folk, far removed from the morbid vibes of his work with Dead Can Dance. Weeping strings and mournful slide guitars snuggle against Perry's blissful brushed-velvet voice. He hasn't forsaken titles like ''Death Will Be My Bride,'' but this virtuoso crooner seems to have otherwise given up the ghost on Eye of the Hunter.
