It seems that guitar whiz Kenny Wayne Shepherd wants to be Stevie Ray Vaughan, frontman Noah Hunt dreams of cloning Hendrix, and the songs on Live On are calculated to conjure those greats. This makes for technically proficient and occasionally dazzling performances, but until these young turks learn their tough-guy posturings from real life instead of records, they'll never be masters.
