Not Two, Not One

EW's GRADE
B

Details Genre: Jazz

You don't come to the trio of pianist Bley, bassist Peacock, and drummer Motian for blatant thrills. These on-and-off partners since the early '60s deal in the magic of intuition, meditative repose, and telepathic response. There's plenty of flinty, gripping playing on these originals, but subtlety remains the main mode of attack. B
