Hines Sight?

We apologize. We have been shockingly lax. It's been three whole months since we wrote a big news item about Star Wars.

So, without further ado, we hereby inaugurate our Episode IIwatch. On Oct. 7, the movie-gossip website Ain't It Cool Newsreported that tap-dancing actor Gregory Hines — once rumored to be a contender for a role in Episode I — will have a part in George Lucas' episodes II and III. ''We don't know a thing about it — but from your lips to God's ear,'' says Hines' spokesperson, who adds, ''If George needs Gregory's home phone number, let us know.'' Confirms Lucasfilm spokesperson Lynne Hale: ''Totally rumor. George is still writing, and casting doesn't start until January.''

Well, that Star Wars fix is out of the way — now stay tuned for about 18 months of nonstop Episode II coverage.
