Muppets From Space (1999)

EW's GRADE
C

Details Rated: G; Genres: Comedy, Sci-fi and Fantasy

Make no mistake, the Muppets are still cool. While the future may belong to Jar Jar Binks and his digital kin, classic cloth and foam characters like Kermit and Miss Piggy still possess the power to amuse and entertain. Unfortunately, not enough of the patented Muppet magic shines through in this ho-hum tale of Gonzo's quest to contact aliens. Reel Goodies (0:03) The introduction of all the key Muppets is accompanied by the Commodores' ''Brick House,'' a notably adult song. The Last Detail You can still catch classic episodes of The Muppet Show on the Odyssey network, which is co-owned by the Jim Henson Company. C+
