In this extraordinarily uninvolving military thriller that manages to take place around both the Gulf War and the Bosnian conflict, Hauer who still has a sharklike mien despite the poundage he's added since Blade Runner plays a psychotic ex-fighter pilot who blames his old wingman (Patrick) for his six-year stint in an Iraqi prison. Just when you thought your days of watching hammy actors in cockpits surrounded by stock air-battle footage died with Iron Eagle III... Reel Goodies (0:10) Hauer, lurking like a Great White, meets the White Shadow (Ken Howard) and then finds Patrick...on the basketball court. The Last Detail Patrick, whose break came as the bad guy in Terminator 2 before paying his straight-to-video dues in flicks like Hong Kong '97, will act opposite Matt Damon in next year's All the Pretty Horses.
