In this gleeful addition to the too-long-dormant '70s paranoia genre (see The Parallax Viewet al.), suburban widower Michael Faraday (Bridges) begins to suspect nondescript neighbor Oliver Lang (Robbins) is a right-wing terrorist hell-bent on blowing up...something. As Lang's creepy history unspools and Faraday's obsession spirals into pathology, the film builds to a beautifully plotted if totally preposterous parlor trick of an ending. Reel Goodies(1:12) Lang's unnerving wifey, Joan Cusack, scares the bejesus out of Hope Davis. The Last Detail After scripting Road, screenwriter Ehren Kruger was tapped to pen Scream 3. B+
