The title is half right: This dry-as-sand drama is indeed hideous, with Winslet's listless English mother of two adrift in 1972 Marrakech for no discernible reason. Her daughters, meant to represent her conscience, are like brats forced to eat in a Moroccan restaurant, and her ''enigmatic'' lover (Taghmaoui) is painstakingly dull. The only kinkiness comes from watching Winslet become nearly as petulant as her preschool costars. Reel Goodies (1:01) Well, the scenery is nice.
