Affirmation (1999)

EW's GRADE
C+

Details Lead Performance: Savage Garden

On the lead track of their second album, the two Aussies sing ''I believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed.'' They deliver 11 more tracks jammed with adages that smack of Hallmark. Despite the album's pitiable lack of spunk, its lilting melodies are as addictive as an afternoon soap. But savage? Affirmation is lyricized elevator Muzak. C+
