How refreshing: a big-budget, F/X-happy action flick that actually appears to be intentionally stupid. Director Renny Harlin, whose deadpan 1996 action parody The Long Kiss Goodnight was greeted with uncomprehending indifference, tones down the over-the-top absurdity somewhat this time, but he clearly -- and wisely -- isn't taking the film's genetically enhanced, superintelligent-killer-shark premise very seriously, especially when you consider that... Reel Goodies (0:58) ...special guest star (and Long Kiss cohort) Samuel L. Jackson delivers the requisite stirring ''Okay, listen up people, here's the plan'' monologue just before becoming a hot lunch. The Last Detail The number on the license plate recovered from one shark's mouth is identical to that of a shark-ingested license plate in Jaws. B-
