The good news is that the first full-length Animaniacs movie avoids the forced wackiness that plagues the television series. The bad news is that Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and the entire TV cast are shoehorned uncomfortably into the almost serious tale of a wishing star, which has fallen to earth and could bring relief to the downtrodden village of Acme Falls. Warm sentiments aren't their specialty, but the Animaniacs do deliver some laughs for both kids and adults. Reel Goodies (0:21) Three words: Ben Stein sings! (He's the voice of the Desire Fulfillment Facilitator.) The Last Detail Animaniacs and its spin-off, Pinky and the Brain, have won a combined 11 Emmy awards. C+
