Run Devil Run Paul McCartney (Capitol) Covering his favorite '50s rock songs, mostly in the balls-out style of "I'm Down," McCartney provides an unexpected testament to the revivifying power of rock & roll, not to mention his most satisfying album since 1982's Tug of War.

Music from the Motion Picture Magnolia Aimee Mann (Reprise) Director P.T. Anderson says he wanted to use this soundtrack to share his own "Aimee Mann mix tape" with the world. The result is a cohesive assortment of Mann tunes, new and obscure, whose weary narrators are as battered but undiminished as the battery of losers in Anderson's unashamedly emotional epic.
