Naomi Campbell is a ''Prisoner of Love''

Naomi Campbell's movie roles have run the gamut from model (Robert Altman's Ready to Wear) to Girl 75 (Spike Lee's Girl 6) to herself (Unzipped). Prisoner of Love, which debuts on video Aug. 3, marks her first starring role, and that's purely a matter of chance. A year ago, the leggy stunner received a script called Prisoner of Love, then met with Lions Gate and learned that the Prisoner of Love she'd read was a different movie altogether, according to producer Lauren McLaughlin. ''Naomi decided she really wanted to do ours instead,'' she says. In contrast to her work in Madonna's Caligulan coffee-table book, Sex, the thrills Campbell provides in this R-rated ''erotic thriller'' are mild. ''There are sexy scenes,'' says McLaughlin. ''But no boob shots.''
