As involving and profound as the videogame series on which it's based, this amalgam of cliches from Star Trek and Top Gun grafts the expected high-tech battles onto a labored, facile allegory of racial discrimination, with Prinze's half-''Pilgrim'' flyboy proving his mettle alongside ''pure'' humans like the one played by fellow She's All That alumnus Lillard (somebody keep these dudes away from each other). The effects in Wing Commander are laughably primitive, the dialogue hilariously atrocious and those are the good parts. D
