Perez, widower of the late Tejano star Selena, makes his bid for the big time with a pop-rock effort that's reassuringly heartfelt and tuneful. The nine Spanish-language songs on Resurrection may make the listening experience a tad schizy for gringos, but it works, thanks to the sprawling Springsteen-en-espanol feel of tracks like ''Noches en Vela.''
