Louis Philippe, a.k.a. Philippe Auclair, is finally making his American debut, albeit on a compilation that barely scratches the surface of a decade's worth of European and Japanese releases. His reedy voice may scream ''sensitive guy,'' but as a songwriter-arranger, he has a vast array of tricks up his sleeve. From cool bossas to miniature pop symphonies, he displays them all on A Kiss in the Funhouse with ease. B+
