Lily Tomlin buys a new house in the Valley

SOLD ONE RINGY-DINGY HOME! 5 BR, 7 BTH high-tech spread in the San Fernando Valley PRICE $2 million

Comedian Lily Tomlin recently bought this spacious 7,500-square-foot pad after selling her longtime Hollywood Hills mansion earlier this month to Deep Impact director Mimi Leder for over $2 million. Tomlin had wanted a more au courant look (her previous home was built in 1912). Remodeled in the '80s, Tomlin's new digs speak to her — literally. According to selling broker Connie Nelson of Coldwell Banker-Jon Douglas, the house is fully computerized and features a digital voice that says, among other things, ''The mail has arrived.'' Another highlight: a swimming pool with a stereo system for underwater listening. Yes, but does it have a giant rocking chair?
