Video Review: 'Reach the Rock'

A morose small-town delinquent (Face/Off's Nivola) gets himself arrested and, over the course of one night spent in jail, locks horns with the local cops. Supposedly a departure for writer-producer John Hughes from his family-friendly comedies, this barely released drama still plays too much like Home Alone 4: All Grown Up and Behind Bars. And watching Nivola wreak havoc both inside and outside his cell, one wonders just what it is about his character the audience is supposed to find charming or interesting. C-
