Wearing a flowing white wig and mumbling all his lines in this 1930s-set catastrophe, Reynolds bobbles the silver-platter comeback Boogie Nights served him. All the moonshine, World War I flashbacks, and nudity in the world can't create enough drama to compensate for the unintentional laughs he provokes as a raging bootlegger trying to keep his daughter (Hayley Du Mond) away from a wandering vet (Carradine) and steer clear of the feds.
