THE CHARTS

CAGE HEAT

Eight millimeter measured up for Nicolas Cage this week as it entered the chart at No. 2. The flick -- which stars Cage as a private eye investigating a snuff film -- rented an average of 33 copies per store. That can't compare to the February debut of Cage's Snake Eyes (54 per store), but it's on a par with his City of Angels (30 per store in 1998). And moving from sick minds to sick technology, Virus debuted at No. 11.
