What I'm Listening To: Donna Summer

The disco queen tells us which artists make her want to shake her groove thing

Having laid low through most of the '90s, Donna Summer is back with a VH1 spin-off album, Live and More: Encore!, and a single that's at No. 2 on Billboard's dance chart, ''I Will Go With You (Con Te Partiro).'' Don't accuse Summer of being a chica-loca-come-lately with her Latin-styled remixes; she's been into that hot stuff for a couple of decades, she tells EW in the course of recounting what records are currently filling her last dance card.

''I like Jennifer Lopez — she's a hot little mama, and I'm really happy to see this whole Spanish influence get its place. My housekeeper, who's been with me 20 years, is Spanish and she has it on all the time. So it's nice to hear it on the radio, and on regular radio, because it's as much American as anything else at this point.

''Lauryn Hill probably is one of my favorite artists, in terms of her tangibility and her assessments of things, and her funkiness. I love Cher. In or out, up or down, she's cool. We just bought a Jamiroquai record that we love. He's just a funky little white boy; I thought he was black until I saw him. I love his quirkiness. I actually was a little bit mad at him when he took his hat off, but whatever.''
