DOUBLE REVERSE Tim Green (Warner Books, $24) Can Green do for football what John Grisham did for lawyers? He makes a run for it with this over-the-top thriller about two NFL players -- one a born-again Christian, the other an overpaid, hedonistic brat -- each suspected of killing a woman who seduced them both. The author, himself an NFL vet, isn't subtle: He opens with the latter telling an autograph-seeking kid to buzz off before picking up a prostitute and beating her. Still, Green's attention to details of NFL life -- the smell of a practice field, the sweat of a locker room -- makes for a surprisingly absorbing read. B
