By 9:30 p.m., folks at the Los Angeles premiere of Go were simply raving. Well, they were having a rave. To celebrate director Doug Liman's second cinematic look at L.A. nightlife (the first was Swingers) the star set gathered at the Hollywood Athletic Club for a dance party inspired by one of the film's key scenes, complete with laser lights, an inflatable kiddie bounce house, and blaring electronica. Completing the setting were Go's youth brigade of Katie Holmes, Scott Wolf, and Taye Diggs, who met with friends like Ryan Phillippe, Molly Ringwald, and Ally McBeal's Lucy Liu, over tables full of bonbons, Pop-Tarts, and Jell-O shots. ''I was worried how cool a party a conservative studio [Sony] could throw,'' said Liman of the bash. ''But I couldn't be happier.'' Veterans of actual raves were more skeptical. ''If it were real, we'd be getting ready at midnight, not going home then,'' said Wolf. Eventually, the spirit moved him. ''There's a chance I could Day-Glo paint my face,'' he noted. But the real attraction was the movie (see story on page 14). ''Sure, it's appropriate for teens,'' said That '70s Show's Ashton Kutcher. ''Drugs, violence, sex, that's real life. It was funny as s---.'' That's what we call a rave.
