Radney Foster's alt-country albums with Bill Lloyd (as Foster and Lloyd) never really jelled, and See What You Want to See explains why: Foster isn't a country performer as much as he is a natural pop artist. Here, he draws on the pain of divorce and the redemption of new love on songs packed with tuneful, hard-edged melodies and fist-in-glove lyrics. Another phoenix rises, this time to stay. B+
