Swanky Hollywood invitations

How Bobbi Brown, Shannen Doherty, ''Mademoiselle'' magazine, and others get down and party

Party Planning 101: Want folks to come to your shindig? Get Leo. If you're not in Titanic Boy's circle, at least make sure your invitation stands out. And we don't mean Hallmark. Here are some of the more creative invites we've seen lately.

EVENT: Shannen Doherty and Maxim magazine's Circus Maximus soiree
THE INVITE: A foldout cardboard card that comes complete with your very own detachable gold tongue stud. (Self-piercing kit not included.)

EVENT: Mademoiselle's gala honoring the future of entertainment
THE INVITE: A stylish white 45 (for you kids, that's a vinyl record format, not a gun caliber). Party info is printed on the label.

EVENT: Makeup-artist-to-the-stars Bobbi Brown's pre-Oscars fete
THE INVITE: A cardboard handbag filled with party-night survival gear, including such essentials as mascara and lip gloss

EVENT: A bash for Korg's Electribe synthesizers
THE INVITE: An unmarked CD, enclosed in its own clear case. Party details are revealed only when you play the disc.
