Jawbreaker

This Heathers-style comedy gives McGowan a chance to chew the scenery as ringleader of a quartet of teen queens who accidentally kill one of their own. Jawbreaker's occasionally dizzying energy keeps things interesting, but the script imagines itself far more wicked than it really is. Ultimately it's an after-school special in MTV clothing, reveling in the superficiality of high school even as it decries it. C
