THE FACULTY (116 mins., R) In this variation on Invasion of the Body Snatchers, an alien parasite arrives at Herrington High, where it takes over the teachers and infiltrates the student body. The film was writ- ten by Kevin Williamson, yet in a strange way the Williamson of Dawson's Creek is now at odds with the sophisticated joker who wrote Scream. The film eventually erupts into an F/X blowout, with its actors sporting tentacles the size of elephant trunks. C+
