And as captured by New York shutterbug Nabokov, the rooms somehow spin stories of their own: How does Quentin Crisp sleep in that tangled, linty mess of a bed? Could Barbara Taylor Bradford's room have any more shades of pink? Alas, the remainder of the book isn't as engaging, comprising predictable, tastefully decorated shots of glitterati abodes. B
