Between the black-tie glamour of the People's Choice Awards and the black-clad funk of Courtney Love's gig at the Viper Room, Hollywood's red-carpet crowd really had to run the gamut. The Jan. 9 reopening bash at the L.A. nightspot (it had closed for renovations) was a benefit for Love's favorite yoga center, Golden Bridge Night Moon. Those contributing $200 a head included Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Drew Barrymore, and Brad Pitt — who didn't seem to mind as Jennifer Aniston got huggy with ex-beau Adam Duritz of Counting Crows. Love of another sort was ushered in the next night, which saw the ever-laudable Titanic get a People's Choice trophy. As Hanks (voted favorite actor) noted: ''It's never too late in the year to give Titanic an award.''
