''Drivin' Nails in My Coffin'' (1999)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performances: Beck and Willie Nelson; Genre: Country

Given Willie Nelson's laid-back tendencies and Beck's deadpan ones, this unlikely duo couldn't have picked a better country song to resurrect (for the Hi-Lo Country soundtrack) than the jaunty honky-tonk standard, ''Drivin' Nails in My Coffin''. From vocal delivery to de rigueur pedal-steel solo, everyone plays it straight, and Beck tags along like an eager toddler. Ultimately, though, it's not unlike a jam at Farm Aid — easily digested, just as easily stored away. B
