When this TV movie aired in 1995, its true story seemed bolder. Recounting Colonel Cammermeyer's legal fight to stay in the army after coming out of the closet, it got attention for its sensitive portrayal of two women in love and for one chaste kiss between Cammermeyer (Close) and her artist lover (Davis). But post-Ellen, there isn't enough conflict; everyone's too stoic or too understanding. Still, the Emmy-winning Close and Davis make a great couple. B-
