The high school preppie who raped a 16-year-old girl in 1986 (and then fled to Europe for eight years before finally being convicted) is a complex, boy-next-door villain. But star Matthew Settle's one-note portrayal in Crime in Connecticut: The Story of Alex Kelly elicits only lock-him-up contempt. Much more effective, however, are Models, Inc.'s Cassidy Rae as Kelly's crusading victim and Margo Kidder as his aiding-and-abetting mom. B-
