With a guest spot on Ol' Dirty Bastard's latest — along with a Hype Williams video, ''Caught Out There'' — 20-year-old Harlem hip-hopper Kelis has been groomed for notoriety. Kaleidoscope fleshes out her persona with petulant sass and roller-rink whimsy, pegging her romantic maturity halfway between Brandy and Mary J. But what lingers are the minimalist staccato beats from production duo the Neptunes (ODB). No wonder: They also wrote almost every tune.
