New Mexico may have been love at first sight for actor Val Kilmer, but now he's giving up his arid oasis of nine years. The notoriously bristly actor bought this adobe-style estate in 1991 with his then wife, actress Joanne Whalley (they split in 1995). The couple renovated the home, nearly doubling its size to 6,000 square feet. The results include tile floors, antique doors, and kiva-style fireplaces in almost every room. The gated home borders Santa Fe National Forest; its 27 acres, all fenced, hold tennis and basketball courts and a full horse facility, including a riding arena and stables. A spokesman wouldn't say if Kilmer was leaving Santa Fe.
