MELTDOWN
At her Feb. 29 concert at Manhattan's Roseland Ballroom, angsty alt-rocker Fiona Apple, 22, had a lengthy tantrum about the venue's sound system. ''I swear to God, you f---ing reviewers, if you f---ing f--- me tonight I'll f---ing kill you,'' she ranted before walking out mid-show. ''I just couldn't hear myself at all on that stage and I lost it. I can't apologize enough,'' she later wrote on a fan website, neverisapromise.com.

DEATHS
Actor John Colicos, 71, of heart failure, March 6 in Toronto. Best known as evil Count Baltar in the TV show Battlestar Galactica, the stage vet was the all-time youngest King Lear, at age 22, at London's Old Vic.... Composer George Duning, 92, of a ruptured aorta, Feb. 27, in San Diego. The five-time Oscar nominee was best known for scoring 1953's From Here to Eternity and 1955's Picnic.
