Details Lead Performance: Ice Cube; Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

"Peace" is obviously a relative term to Ice Cube — with the exception of the laid-back ''Until We Rich,'' most of the tracks on War & Peace Vol. 2 (The Peace Disc) are rough-and-tumble celebrations of the gangsta life, full of tough talk about sex, violence, and smoking weed. Dr. Dre, Krazie Bone, and Chris Rock guest, but it's Cube's stern vocal presence that dominates. No, movie stardom hasn't dulled his edge. But he's covered this territory so often, you can't help but dream about the album of quiet-storm jams that might've been. B-
